To Hold On or Not to Hold On?

AFCRadioShawn-160-241-03112013Good Day and God Bless Disciples and Ambassadors for Christ Jesus.

The Word of God states;

John 12:25, “Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”

As we are walking through life, we are on a journey. This journey can be filled with many blessings and you can be happy with unspeakable joy. This journey can be filled with false happiness and joy and disguised as a blessing from God. This journey can end with everlasting life as we are to be reconciled to our Father, who art in Heaven. This journey can end with us losing our eternal life and being condemned to eternal Hell.

It is clearly our choice to make. Do we want to hold onto the things that give us false hope, happiness, and joy or do we let go and let God enter our lives to give us true joy and eternal life?

The things of the world feed our fleshly desires. Many things that we love, crave, and want more of are sinful in the eyes of the LORD. At times we try to justify our actions or play down what we have done as not being as bad as the other person’s sin. Jesus taught about the parable of two sinners both coming to the alter and one claiming that his sins was not as bad as the other; however, sin is sin to God and all sins but one can be forgiven if we ask.

1 John 5:16-20, “If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death. We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”

Mark 3:28-29, “Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
