Temptation of Jesus

Acts 16:17-18 – “She followed Paul and us, crying out, these men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation. And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, ‘I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.’ And it came out that very hour” (ESV). Luke 4:5-8 – “And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and said to him, ‘To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.’ And Jesus answered him, ‘It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve” (ESV).

Our Lord rebuked sinful natures and every temptation that came His way. How could He do that? Because He IS the Child of God but realize this…So are YOU and I! WE are children of God and have authority and dominion over evil including temptation. Think of how our Lord empowers you to stand in authority and cast evil out of your path. Continue praising and worshipping our Lord, Who is worthy of praise!  We should all thank God for our lives and giving us the opportunity to put our trust in Him to rebuke temptation. Thank God for loving His children and giving us a way out! Thank God for opening the door when you knock! God does not allow anything to become a burden on us as He is our avenue for escape! Our Lord is AMAZING! Do you believe that our Lord can save you? Have faith and know that you can do ANYTHING with Jesus on your side.

Jesus is the Perfect Role Model as and He trained His disciples and taught in synagogues. He fulfilled His Father’s will on earth and rebuked temptation by standing in His authority as the Son of God. The biblical story of the Temptation of Jesus serves as an example how we can lean on God’s Word to remove mountains of temptation in our lives. Following our Lord’s instructions anything is possible because nothing is impossible for God. We can learn how to behave according to God’s will by following the example in the Temptation of Jesus. You can respond like Jesus and rebuke senseless temptation and deception as we glorify God. Allow our Lord’s wisdom to minister to your hearts. Allow Him to give you discernment on your purpose on earth and how to accept His Salvation, increase your faith, and remove temptations. Accepting our Lord as Savior, we live by faith giving Him all the glory and the Honor that He truly deserves.  The Scripture reads, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve” (Luke 4:8, NLT). Jesus is clearly telling us that by serving and worshipping God, our Father, we can remove temptations.

As good and faithful servants following His instructions we can remove temptations by rebuking evil. When evil follows you around it will become annoying but you can rebuke it. Acts 16:18 state “Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, ‘I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.’ And it came out that very hour.” When God is doing His work, things happen! In paying tribute to God, giving Him the entire honor, glory, and respecting His wishes, He will continue to embrace and support us while empowering us to remove temptation. God will provide the discernment to remove temptations from our lives like Jesus did to increase our Spiritual growth.

God knows what we need before we even ask! Thank Him for giving us the Perfect Role model to emulate. I thank Him for the power of His word and providing us with His reasoning for every uncertainty we face and telling us how we, as His ROYAL children, should behave in any given situation.  God knows us! He knows you, He knows everyone. Even those who reject Him, He knows. Seek God’s face and strength in your daily activities. We may not admit it, but we know what is lacking in our Spiritual garden. We know which Fruits of the Spirit are not maturing to reach its fruition. Allowing selfish influences to motivate our behavior, we know what Fruit of the Spirit needs more attention. Spending time with God, He can assist us in improving our flaws and reflecting a more Christ-like behavior. Remember, Jesus already showed us how to overcome the world!

The story of the Temptation of Jesus reveals how we as Christians can stand in authority and spread the Good News of the gospel, to inform others, so that EVERYONE can understand that we all can rebuke sin. The devil tried to tempt our Lord and Savior and Jesus rebuked him. The devil told Jesus to prove that He is God’s Son and to turn stone into bread. Even though Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days, He knew that people need more than bread to survive. The devil went as far to offer Jesus all the kingdoms of the world. It is funny how others try to offer things that do not even belong to them! Jesus rebuked that temptation by professing we must only worship God and serve Him. Throughout life you will experience many trials, tribulations, and temptations. Understanding the Bible and receiving discernment empowers us to accomplish God’s will in our lives. His Word serves as the weapon of victory as we engage in Spiritual Warfare.

Individuals will reject you. Jesus was rejected at Nazareth. Jesus humbly displayed His knowledge as He represents our Heavenly Father. Our Lord can also use you to do His will. Even though Jesus spoke God’s Words of Wisdom, people just looked at him as Joseph’s son. As others view you as your father’s child, they limit you to earthly activities. As you allow God to use you to reveal yourself as His child, the wisdom and knowledge He allows you to impart will bless others. Some may try to minimize it and shed doubt upon you, but keep the faith and walk with God.

During His walk on earth, Jesus had the authority to cast out demons. He rose above temptation and with authority given by the power of His Father, Jesus expelled demons out of men. As Jesus was teaching in the synagogue a demon-possessed man tried to disrupt His teaching by being unruly. With an order of authority, Jesus commanded the demon out of the man and the devil exited the man’s body. As you operate in the Holy Spirit, you do not have time for foolishness. God will empower you and bless you to bless others. As miracles unfold, give the glory to God and watch Him clear your path.

Along His journey, Jesus did heal many people. He rebuked fevers, diseases, demon-possessed individuals, and confidently accomplished God’s work. As a child of God, when you rebuke temptation with the Word of God, He will show up and show off in your life! Keep praising God and He will use you to reach His children. In the Great Commission, our purpose on earth is to make disciples of all nations. As you spread God’s Word and do His work, He will be with you until the end of age….the very end. Regardless of situations that arose, Jesus continued to preach. After rebuking demons, healing people, overcoming temptations Jesus preached the Good News of the Kingdom of God. You should not limit yourself or stifle the Holy Spirit.

Overcome temptations like Jesus, lean on God, and preach the Good News wherever you go! Jesus is the perfect example of how to overcome the world. Jesus is the Perfect Role Model to emulate. He showed us how to deal with temptation. Because of Jesus, we can say NO to temptation.  You are our Heavenly Father’s image and your reflection should be pleasing to our Lord’s sight as He is a perfect, flawless God. Striving to please Him is part of the Christian Discipleship process. It may sound hard but with Jesus, Who gives us strength and we can do anything with Him. You are a child of God and if God is for you…who can be against you? Reflect upon your past and thank God for His glorious grace. Ponder on the Temptation of Jesus and thank Him for overcoming the world. God is truly AMAZING, loves us unconditionally, and created us in His image. As you are doing God’s work, challenges will arise, but if you keep the faith, stay faithful to God, not man’s will, know that you will remain victorious as the Word of God states. You are more than conquerors through Him who loves you.  Praise the Lord!

As the time and seasons go by, temptations arise but remain focused on God and concentrate on Him. Keep God first, and pursue His will. Thank Him for giving you an opportunity to reflect your Godly image He blesses you with. Thanksgiving to God should have begun from the beginning of time but it is not too late to engage in eternal thanksgiving. Always thank God! You can accomplish anything through Christ who strengthens you. Jesus overcame the world and gave us the perfect set of instructions from our Heavenly Father on how to do the same and rebuke temptation. The Holy Bible is full of good information and encouraging stories. Accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior allows Him to take control of your life, show you His righteous path and overcome temptation like Jesus did.

God loves you! Embrace His instructions, your Holy Bible, remain grounded in the Word of God, and thank Him for any given situation. Pray to Him as He hears YOU. As you await His response, continue to THANK HIM for past, present, and future blessings. Our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit are our protection and you reflect their image. Admire the beautiful image that God created. You ARE blessed! God loves YOU! Keep God first and foremost in your life and continue to engage in eternal Thanksgiving to our God of Wisdom. We thank you Heavenly Father, we give you all the praise, honor, and glory. Blessings in the name of Jesus!
