Slave to Sin

Slave to Sin

AFCRadioShawn-160-241-03112013Good Day and God Bless Disciples and Ambassadors for Christ Jesus.

Are you a slave to sin? Have you been reading the Bible daily, and/or praying to Jesus to remove you from the struggles you are in, but seemingly nothing is happening in your life.

Many times when we are struggling is when we come to the feet of Christ with our prayers and petitions. Yes, we read our Bible and pray when all is well, but as we fight a spiritual battle, sometimes we try to do more than our normal trying to prove to God that we have faith. We start fasting, our prayers are more focused on our situation now instead of others that we were praying for in the past; we become more selfish in our petitions to God. We learn from God’s Word that being selfish is a sin and we should try to remove all sin from our lives.

John 8:34, “Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.”

When we come to God, yes we can pray for ourselves, as long as it is for God’s glory and not for ourselves making us look selfish in the eyes of the LORD. Let our hearts be on what God’s will for our life is and not just to make our life better by asking God to remove us from the battle. Instead let us ask God to join us in the battle. Let us ask God to show us what His will is for us during this time. We cannot be like non-Christians just trying to be good but we must do good. We must copy or imitate what God wants us to do and not allow evil to be our leader.

3 John 1:11, “Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.”

Psalm 1:6, “For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.”

Christ, our LORD and Savior is the Way, and with His Holy Spirit we are given the freedom, power, and knowledge to enter into a Spiritual battle with Him on our side without a worry in the world as we pray for His protection that will break the bonds and chains of being a Slave to Sin.

Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
