Have we been living life to the fullest? Are we experiencing the fullness of God in our lives or only drippings? Have you ever thought about life and felt that there was so much more to live and experience?

We can be so focused on “the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy” that we lose focus on what Jesus says after that “But I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” For the last few days the Lord has been talking to me about this. For the last few months I have had this feeling or better yet this knowing that there is so much in me that I have yet to tap into. For some time, I had believed so many of the lies of the enemy. I had become okay with mediocrity. But God wants us to experience Him in His fullness. What lies have you believed? Remember how after Adam sinned and later tried to hide from God. When God asked him about what was going on, Adam said that he hid because he was naked and was afraid. God responded by asking “Who told you that you were naked?” then He asked Adam if he ate from the tree He commanded him not to eat from.

Who told you that you are worthless? Who told you that you are no good? Who told you that you couldn’t do it? Who told you that God doesn’t love you? Who told you that you can never amount to anything or be successful? Have you been eating the fruit that the enemy has been offering you? Have you accepted satan’s lies above God’s truth?

There are times where I can be quiet and a lot of times people have mistaken my quietness for shyness. I had heard for such a long time “Oh LaTrece is so shy!” I heard “shy this” and “shy that” so much that I had come to accept being shy. And so when someone would ask me why I was so quiet, I would say “I guess because I’m shy.” And as a result I had come to see my confidence slowly but surely dwindle. I had been asking the Lord about this for some time and now as I am typing this He is giving me revelation. WOW! I had been wondering and questioning whatever happened to the confidence I had. I mean, I can remember growing up and performing in the different programs in church and being bold and unafraid. But then after a while I remember getting up and going to the front of the church, at age sixteen, with both my voice and body trembling in fear. I had been speaking, thinking, and believing fear over my life. I was living my life so limited. But the very thing the enemy tried to use to hold me back was the very thing God used to free me. I remember growing up and saying how I would rather stay in the background. And now God uses me as His minister here in the earth.

God didn’t place us here in this earth to merely just exist but He desires us to live, really live! Fully live! There are gifts in us that need to be stirred and used.

Think of the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:

“Again, the kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last- dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip. The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more. But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a whole in the ground and hid the master’s money.”

Why did that one servant who only had one bag, hide his bag? It was because he was afraid. Was he praised or even shown compassion for being afraid? Nope, he was called a wicked servant. Are we hiding our God-given gifts, talents, and abilities out of fear? Are we living a less than life, that’s below what God has called us to? This is to me as well. It’s time to let go of the fears and be built up by the word of God.
