Letting Go and Letting God

Many of us have said to “let go and let God,” but do we truly understand what that means or how to do it? Is it enough to just have faith and believe that if we say it enough times that it will occur and God will automatically take over?

Psalm 55:22 states, “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken” (NIV).

God loves us unconditionally and He wants us to love Him back. In order to show our love to God, we must let the natural and material things of this world go; give our hearts to God. Stop worrying about tomorrow because it is not promised to us.

1 Peter 5:7 states, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (NIV). Let God handle your worries by lifting them up to Him in prayer and thanksgiving. Have faith that he will answer your prayer, but according to His will and on His time.

When you come to God, you must have a pure heart in what you are asking; James 4:3, “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures” (NIV).

Once we ask, with a pure heart, we must have faith that God will do it; however, if we are constantly looking for immediate answers to our prayer, that is not faith, or letting go and letting God.

Hebrews 11:1 states, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (KJV). God works in a spiritual realm and we live in the natural; His ways are not ours and we must work on His time.

Amen and God Bless!
