Ambassadors for Christ

2 Corinthians 5:20 “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God” (NIV).

What does it mean to be reconciled to God and become His ambassador?  First to be reconciled to God, you must accept Him as your lord and savior, repent, and ask Jesus to come into your life. Jesus died for our sins, even ones we have not committed yet, and only through Him can we reach God. Secondly, in order to be an Ambassador For Christ, we must become His disciple. In Matthew 28, Jesus gives us His great command for us to go make disciples.

A disciple and Ambassador for Christ have submitted to being taught how to follow Jesus. This teaching can come from a Pastor, minister, Bishop, the Pope, or even a little child, but our hearts have to be willing to hear the word and then learn those words ourselves. An Ambassador for Christ, just like a disciple, will continue in the ways of Jesus Christ and learn exactly how Jesus walked daily then do as He did in His ministry of loving God, and Loving your neighbor. Finally, we do exactly what Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”” (NIV).
