Why Worry When You Can Pray?

Why Worry When You Can Pray? Part I and II

Do you not know that God is on your side?

AFCRadioShawn-160-241-03112013

As Christians, we are to be faithful to God, and we believe in the Triune God-head of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We are to give complete trust in His Word, as the Truth. We are to praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in good times and in bad times.

However, many times, when we are at our lowest point, we seem to start doubting. We seem to be more concerned about our lives because it is in turmoil. Everything was going great, then all of a sudden a spiritual battle comes upon us and we seem to forget that God’s Word has been preparing us for this day – God will not give us more than we can bear.

Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV).

Three points:
1. PRAYERS and PETITIONS
2. PROMISES
3. PROTECTION

We provide thanksgiving for our Creator as He created everything under the heavens and the earth. He gives us instructions on how to cultivate our Spiritual garden and seek His face as we emulate His ways. God loves us! His love is deeper than the seas. Our spirit should reflect the beauty of the rainbow, as that is the covenant He established with us in Genesis. Praise the Lord! Keep God first in your life and continue to engage in eternal Thanksgiving to our Lord. We thank you Heavenly Father, we give you all the praise, honor, and glory; Blessings in the name of Jesus!

Do not let God be a snare to you! Do not sin against God; do not worship other gods because there is only one God. Hallelujah! Give Him thanks and sing Songs of Praises while you are attending to His garden; your mind, body, soul, and spirit. Our body is His and we must protect it.

Why Come to Church?

Why Come/Go to Church?

AFCRadioShawn-160-241-03112013

Some of you may know the story of my testimony and when I preach and teach I always include my testimony because someone may identify with it; also because the LORD leads me to include portions of it.

I accepted the LORD Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior when I was a child, but I did not have a strong foundation from within my home to pursue His Holiness or the encouragement to attend church. I heard things like, “I do not need to go to church, I can have church right here at home.” Also, “I do not need someone to teach me the Bible, I can read it and get my own interpretation.” Maybe even, “Why should I go to church, there are too many hypocrites in the church.” These were the messages that I was receiving from my parents as a child.

Although I was hearing these things, I was still drawn to the church. I would walk to Sunday school to a Lutheran church on my own for almost a year if memory serves me right; if not, please forgive me Lord. As a child, the powerful persuasion of our parents can be detrimental to our upbringing, especially if they themselves do not follow what they are teaching. Even though, they said they could have church at home, and they could read the Bible at home, it was not being done and it was not being passed on.

Those sayings started setting in in me. I started to believe what my parents were saying; they are my parents, correct? I started repeating those same statements until I was thoroughly in my adulthood. I would read the Bible and get confused trying to understand it on my own. I would argue with others trying to explain it to me with their limited knowledge and they too not quite understanding what they were reading; they too were just repeating what they had been told and did not quite understand it or how to explain it. So I thought to myself “Why go to Church” if they are also confused?

 2 Corinthians 5:16-21
16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Four Points
I would like to talk to you tonight very briefly about four points in this Scripture.
1. Regenerate (weaned, no regard – new creation)
2. Reconciliation (reconciled)
3. Representative (ambassador)
4. Request (appeal)

God Bless,
Jesus Loves YOU!

fifteen :: Bill Jenkins

Bill Jenkins – fifteen

AFCRShowGuest-BillJenkins-03262015-164-225Pastor Bill Jenkins, founder and Senior Pastor of the Church of A.C.T.S., is a seasoned prophet whom God is raising up, in the last of the last days, to tear down the devil’s strongholds, and to bring hope to the hopeless.

As a seventeen-year-old with a strong passion for baseball, Bill Jenkins had an opportunity to sign a professional contract, but it was only three days before his 18th birthday when Jenkins had an encounter with God, which completely changed his life and future.

Instead of seeking success through baseball, Jenkins became a youth pastor and traveled the United States preaching the gospel. Later, Jenkins attended Christ for the Nations Bible College in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated in 1990. That is when God spoke to Pastor Bill again, and told him to go to the heart of America to get the spiritual heart pumping and the blood flowing. Thus, Jenkins traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana where he set in motion the Church of A.C.T.S., a spirit-filled church sitting on 34 acres on Indianapolis’ South side.

Among his many accomplishments, Pastor Bill Jenkins has worked with the Mayor of Indianapolis and other city officials in effort to reduce crime, and earned the Mayor’s Community Service Award. He has organized large events at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and the Indian State Fairgrounds to unite the churches of Indianapolis, and has been recognized as a “Man of Distinction” by the Indiana Minority Business Magazine.

Aside from his professional life, God has also called Bill Jenkins to be a husband to his wife, Britain Jenkins and a father to his three sons, Bryce, Brock and Brady. Anyone will find that Bill Jenkins is a model of what a godly man looks like, not only in the pulpit, but also as a head in the family; he also makes time to coach his sons’ baseball, football and basketball teams, among many other duties in his life. Pastor Bill Jenkins is a man of God with a prophetic word for our nation.

Isaiah 38:4-6: “Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah: “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city” (NIV).

Mama C’s

AmandaCorea-150x200-04222014Amanda Correa – My Mama C’s

Jeremiah 17:7-8 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Amanda Correa is a Colorado native currently living in Panama with her husband and 3 children. Upon living in Panama she and her husband started their baking business/ministry, Mama C’s, which was completely God sent. She makes North American home-style cookies and other desserts that you would not typically find in kitchens or bakeries here in Panama.

Their business not only allows for her to be able to be at home and care for her children, but it has also served as a vessel for her and her husband to be able to pray for, and with, their customers/fans and also evangelize to them. The Lord has shown her the importance of obedience, faith and abiding in Him, not only through the start up of her business/ministry, but also through the relocation of her life to Panama.

If Amanda had to sum up the the Lord’s hand in her life these past recent years she would tell you (in a nutshell) “Sometimes the Lord has to remove just about everything out of your life to grow you the way He wants to; prune you, pluck you and even go in and cut you. We never see it at first, but it’s only because of His desire for us to bear fruit and then more fruit. That is why I have found His pruning process to hurt so good”!

God’s pruning: It hurts so good.

John 15:1-2 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine dresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit”.

The Fruit of the Spirit // El Fruto del Espíritu

FruitOfTheSpirit-Cover-163-261-10212014The Fruit of the Spirit // El Fruto del Espíritu

The purpose of the book The Fruit of the Spirit // El Fruto del Espíritu is to bring the love of God to children in a more understandable way using a child’s perspective. Explaining our Lord’s Fruit of the Spirit and providing practical examples shows children how they can keep glorifying God. Daily activities that the young ones can apply to their everyday lives as written in the Holy Bible can be used to mentor each other during difficult situations.

The book addresses each Fruit of the Spirit and shares how children can continue to showcase each Fruit and follow Jesus. The Fruit of the Spirit reminds children that they have the strength in Jesus Christ to do anything! A child will remember that he or she is very important in the Kingdom of God and that they are never alone.
